It was spring of 1896, when Alessandro Gaudini, a famous painter of Northern Italy at that time, tasted the handmade ice cream of Massimo Del Maso, one of Italy’s oldest gelatiere, in the very small ice cream store he inherited from his father.
“The Art of Ice Cream” was acknowledged by the artist, as soon as he had tasted the ice cream and since then this phrase accompanies the recipe of our ice cream.
